Run in Davao or Manila to help more
kids learn how to read

Now on its 5th year, the annual
McHappy Day Stripes Run will be held in two prime locations: People’s Park,
Davao City on November 28 and in BGC, Taguig City on December 5. There are
different race categories for every family member, namely “Catch the Hamburglar
1K”, “Race Grimace 3K for Children”, “Run Grimace Run 3K for Adults”,
“McDonald’s Family Dash 3K”, “Early Birdie 5K”, and “Ronald McDonald Challenge
10K for Adults.”

For Manila, registration for the
2015 McHappy Day Stripes Run is still open at the following McDonald’s stores: Quezon
Ave, Blue Bay, 32nd St., Eton Centris, Jose Abad, Pioneer Reliance,
Bench, Greenhills, Pontevia, Strata 100, Makati Ave, KidZania, Valero, People’s
Support, Eastwood, Shell Emerald, Greenbelt, Katipunan, BGC Forum, Southwoods,
Alabang, Sucat Caritas, Marcos Highway, Forbes Town, and RUNNR BGC.

For Davao City, runners can
sign-up at the following branches: Bajada, Matina Town Square (MTS), Abreeza,
NCCC Mall, Matina Crossing, Pampanga Davao, Davao Ilustre, SM Davao, Bolton,
Gaisano Mall, Damosa, and Sta. Ana.

All McHappy Day Fun Run participants
will receive a race kit which includes a McHappy Day shirt, McDonald’s red and
white striped socks, stub for a free McDonald’s breakfast meal at the venue,
and a race bib.

Proceeds from the run is for the
benefit of “Ronald McDonald Read to Learn,” a flagship program of Ronald
McDonald House Charities (RMHC).

RMHC’S Ronald McDonald’s Read to
Learn program is in partnership with the Department of Education and Adarna
House in supporting Grade 1 and 2 public school students learn how to read
through a set of illustrated books.

This program has helped over 11.5
million kids to date! Since 1990, Read to Learn has distributed over 37,000
books to schools and conducted trainings to 7,500 partner schools with 22,000 trained educators.
